What are looking forward to about your experience as a judge?

I am definitely looking forward to finding more wealth, depth and diversity in the palette of Southern African talent participating in the competition.

What themes do you think will emerge in this year's PPC Imaginarium Awards?

I specifically want to refrain from preconceived ideas. I want the competitors to surprise all of us, and maybe, some themes might arise from their submissions.

How do you think young artists can gauge their success in the industry?

It is not about gauging your success. It is about work, work and work - like in any other career. Networking with the right people can also sometimes assist, but only on the side of relentless and quasi-obsessive work dedication. Success will come by itself if the work and the artists are worthy of it.

What are you looking for as a judge?

Content and mastery in the execution. The message and its delivery. Timelessness…

What tip/s would you give to someone just starting out in their career?

Read, learn, listen to yourself and try to be seen by the right people – these are not always the ones you might think…

What does innovation mean to you?

The closest to being.
